Gnake is a Nibbles clone for GNU/Linux and *BSD.
It's played on a terminal (controlled by the
curses library) with the keyboard: the game is really
simple and that's why I like playing it even in the
oh-my-god-my-graphics-card-costs-more-than-the-rest-of-the-computer era.
This version lets you change a lot of options, like:
- the playground size (potentially bigger than the size of the
terminal),
- the speed,
- the number of apples,
- how much eating an apple makes you grow,
- the length of the snake and
- the time-based growth - as advised by my friend Luca.
The Gnake
0.94b source should compile on any GNU/Linux distribution (take a
look at the README, if you don't know how to do it).
Like I've said, the game is pretty simple; nonetheless, I found myself
playing with it a little too often 8^) .
